For a large selection, choose a Borders or Barnes and Noble bookstore, especially ones downtown near Metro Center.
BUT for a knowledgable staff who can give you good recommendations and advice (which I prefer!):

    I agree with the answerer above me, Olssons is a very good place to shop for any kind of music. Its very close to the Verizon Center, on 7th street. Its probably one of my most favorite stores ever. I used to work in Borders, they have the best selection, but if you need help finding something good luck, because their staff is terrible, and they are usually understaffed. So if you go to Borders, you better know ahead of time what youre looking for. Go to Olssons!
