How does Washington take into account the racially hostile climate that prevailed in the south during the progressive era? Is Du bois’s criticism of Washington accurate?

Who said there was a racially hostile climate there? Who said it prevailed. Very bad question. Tell your teacher to try harder.
Racial hostility was easily settled. If a person caused a problem they were killed. End of problem.
