Question by Dinosauraus: Does Anyone Know Any Korean Music Stores Near Portland, Oregon or Seattle, Washington?
My question pretty much summarizes it all. I’m trying to find korean shops that sell korean music like Big Bang, DBSK, 2NE1, MBLAQ, etc. I’ve been looking through the the internet and can’t find any stores so if anyone knows any stores please tell me…

I know of some music stores in the International District in Seattle and I’m sure there must be some Korean ones.

Has anyone been to the Sasquatch music in festival in Washington before?

October 22nd, 2011

Question by dansepourjoie: Has anyone been to the Sasquatch music in festival in Washington before?
I’m going this year and the website is soooo vauge. I’m confused about the seating. It looks like it has seats all the way up to the front of the stage and a terrace in back. If so how do you get a seat up there. Is it first come first serve or are they reserved. Im one of those people that has to be up front.

Best answer:

Answer by alex
I have been to sasquatch at the gorge before, and it is general admission unless you get the very special seatting around the pit, but that only goes to special people
there is a pit which people did sit in for the beginning of the show, but once the concert got going the crow gathering in front of the stage pushed those people out along with all their stuff(don’t sit there).

I would suggest sitting in the grass areas, there are some that are pretty close. bring a blanket.

Can anyone help me find a way to sponsor my music trip to Europe?

August 24th, 2011

Question by simplymayowa: Can anyone help me find a way to sponsor my music trip to Europe?
In the summer of 2010 I am scheduled to travel to Europe with the Washington Ambassadors of Music, however the cost is a little too much for my family to handle. This trip is incredibly important to me not only because I will be able to play music in other countries but also because I will be able to experience other cultures which is an opportunity that is too valuable to pass up. If anyone could help me find a sponsor for this trip or give me ideas on how to make some money it would take an enormous amount of stress off of my family and I would be very grateful.

Answer by mary
Why don’t you organise a concert? you could play your music and ask some of your musician friends to play for free. Charge an entry fee.

Q&A: Does anyone think that WHAD 90.7 FM Milwaukee will consider a 24 hour classical format?

August 24th, 2011

Question by confidential0908: Does anyone think that WHAD 90.7 FM Milwaukee will consider a 24 hour classical format?
After WFMR dumping classical for smooth jazz it would be nice if WHAD would consider offering Milwaukee residents a non-commercial classical FM station. In Washington,DC a pulbic radio staion became a 24 hour calssical station after WGMS dropped classical.

Best answer:

Answer by LC
I don’t thnk that WHAD wants to risk it’s listenership (if that’s a word) on such a big change. I’d go for a good sized block of classical music offered every day, or maybe two of them, one day-timed, one night-timed. I think they’d have a solid number of listeners for that and it would be a good situation all-round. It’s sad to lose WFMR to that slickery smooth jazz stuff, though. The world doesn’t seem right without WFMR playing classical music.
I suspect smooth jazz is really played by space aliens who are trying to deaden earthlings’ minds so that they can take over the planet. Resist, I beg you.

Can anyone recommend a Washington DC hotel that is walking distance from the Museum of American History?

July 14th, 2011

Question by Jeri Lynne: Can anyone recommend a Washington DC hotel that is walking distance from the Museum of American History?
We are taking Amtrak into Washington, and were intersted in finding a hotel within walking distance of both the museum and Union Station…that is also in a safe area. Help??

Best answer:

Answer by VeggieTart (The Cranky Agnostic)
There really aren’t hotels in walking distance of the National Mall, but as the Museum of American History is pretty close to both the Smithsonian and Federal Triangle Metro stations (Orange and Blue lines), it’s pretty easy to get around. Metro is quite safe.

Union Station (on the Red Line) is a few blocks off a rather dicey neighborhood, and it’s not walking distance to the museums. There are several hotels near Metro Center (Red, Orange, and Blue lines) and Gallery Place (Red, Yellow, and Green lines), but they are rather expensive.

This is pretty much the only "night" shot I took in Washington (since I was afraid of going out with my camera gear at night). This was taken from my hotel room at the Holiday Inn on C Street SW. I wouldn’t recommend staying there.

Question by ~ocean.child~: Anyone who’s been to Sasquatch Music Festival in Washington?
So a few of my friends (who are minors) are considering sneaking some alcohol into the campsite/festival. I’ve never been there before, so I’m not sure how it works. I’m not entering with them, so I won’t get blamed/caught, but I’m wondering how likely it’ll be that someone will search their bags, and whether I should insist that they refrain from sneaking any in (I’ve suggested that they shouldn’t, but they’re set on it.)
Thanks so much!
Yeah, I love ‘em and they’re 2 of my best friends. They just get stupid sometimes…

Best answer:

Answer by Joseph C
Honestly, I’d ditch your friends. There going to get you into nothing but pure TROUBLE in the near future. Are they really FRIENDS, or are they just people you know? I’m not saying this as spam, i’m saying this trying to be helpful. As far as the music festival, I would highly doubt they would check the bags, but I wouldn’t ever attempt it.
