By 1967, King had become the country’s most prominent opponent of the Vietnam War, and a staunch critic of overall US foreign policy, which he deemed militaristic. In his “Beyond Vietnam” speech delivered at New York’s Riverside Church on April 4, 1967 — a year to the day before he was murdered — King called the United States “the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today.” Time magazine called the speech “demagogic slander that sounded like a script for Radio Hanoi,” and the Washington Post declared that King had “diminished his usefulness to his cause, his country, his people.

Downtown transforms into every basketball fan’s fantasy with the Big Ten Women’s & Men’s Basketball Tournaments. March 1 – 11 is jam-packed with opportunities to cheer on your favorite teams. Washington has many coffee shops frequented by locals and visitors. Most feature live music performances as well as offer free and secure wireless internet access that allow customers to relax and enjoy while browsing the web.

Washington is renowned throughout the world. It is a very historical place in America. Coupled with its rich history are modern places to visit. One can go shopping, visit the beautiful campuses of universities, and enjoy the parks.

After a tiring day, there are many restaurants lining the commercial area to have your fill. And if that is not enough yet, there are coffee shops you can go to for a perfect cup of coffee.

Coffee is a very popular drink. Americans loves them. There are several coffee shops in Washington. Customers drive up to these establishments because of their valuable features. Some offer free wireless internet, homemade coffee and pastries and even local and international wine.
