Fast-rising alternative band MGMT is looking to put together association with Paul McCartney. In a new interview with AOL’s music blog Spinner.com, band member Andrew Van Wyngarden said they are motivated by more than just Sir Paul’s iconic status. “We like Paul McCartney’s songwriting abilities and musical feeling. His bass playing is unreal, he is absolutely our favorite bass player,” he said. “We did play a show with him last summer at NY Park, which was really cool. But nothing has really come of the collaboration part of it. We still would really like to do that. It is usually Mission Impossible for anyone trying to get close to Sir Paul McCartney.
