Bush and Obama have same withdrawal plan, How is that Change?

October 17th, 2011

Question by jneg7: Bush and Obama have same withdrawal plan, How is that Change?
They both want to withdraw combat troops. According to the Washington Post article that was printed yesterday in Newsday that is only one third of our troops there. This does not figure in Security Contractors.

So out of 150,000 troops in Iraq both Bush and Obama are only planning on withdrawing 50,000. ( Obama on his website calls for withdrawing Combat troops, he makes no mention of the others) How is this change?

Best answer:

Answer by Latino for Clinton or McCain
Obama is no different from Bush. They both are inexperienced.

Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime

Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime

In 2008 , the presidential election became blockbuster entertainment. Everyone was watching as the race for the White House unfolded like something from the realm of fiction. The meteoric rise and historic triumph of Barack Obama. The shocking fall of the House of Clinton—and the improbable resurrection of Hillary as Obama’s partner and America’s face to the world. The mercurial performance of John McCain and the mesmerizing emergence of Sarah Palin. But despite the wall-to-wall media coverage of this spellbinding drama, remarkably little of the real story behind the headlines had been told—until now.

In Game Change, John Heilemann and Mark Halperin pull back the curtains on the Obama, Clinton, McCain, and Palin campaigns. Based on hundreds of interviews with the people who lived thestory, Game Change is a reportorial tour de force that reads like a fast-paced novel.

How do you change a insignia or any am fm radio from getting power from an electrical socket to just batteries?

June 22nd, 2011

Question by Jasmine: How do you change a insignia or any am fm radio from getting power from an electrical socket to just batteries?
I want to take my insignia am fm radio/ipod player on a trip and would like to play music out loud at the hotel. There are batteries in the device but when i unplug it, it doesn’t work on it’s own and was wondering if it is possible to have it work on just batteries. Help???

Best answer:

Answer by John
Usually just removing the power cord should shift your radio to the batteries for power. If it doesn’t, you may require fresh batteries or possibly need to clean the battery terminals of the player. Remember to use rubbing alcohol for cleaning and not water or other cleaners! I hope this helps.

Wi-Fi Internet Radio – Change The Way You Listen To Music

Wi-Fi Internet Radio – Change The Way You Listen To Music

Internet radio has changed the way that we listen to our radio. With more than 15,000 channels available from all around the world, listening to the radio is not the same anymore. Enjoy wireless, free music of excellent sound quality with sophisticated Wi-fi Internet radio. Read on to find out more.

No field is untouched by the fast pace of development and improving technology. New technology often refines the means of entertainment used earlier. MP3 players have changed the way that we listen to music, while internet has changed the way we buy music to some extent as most of the people prefer downloading their favorite music rather than accumulating CDs. With many new means of entertainment, many people thought radio would soon be extinct. Is it really so? On the contrary, radio has only grown in popularity as people often get bored with their music play list. Radio not only offers the option of fresh songs but also offers many other features like a talk show or sports broadcast. Radio has also assumed a new form now, that of internet radio. It is one step further in entertainment as far as radio is concerned. Why?

Firstly, it connects you almost anywhere in the world. So, unlike traditional radio where signals connect only to a limited range of area, an internet radio allows you to listen to any radio station located anywhere, where there is internet access. There is no limitation of area as well as any problem of poor reception of signals in closed areas. That means you can log in any time that you want and listen to a radio station located anywhere in the world. That also means that you have thousands of radio stations from all over the world to choose. You can get access to up to 17,000 channels from all around the world. Instead of a limited number of channels that were confined to one place and hence, provided limited programs the choice has increased by many folds. So, you can listen to a far greater variety of songs, sports and other entertainment programs from several areas around the world. The difference is obvious.

Secondly, all you need is the basic equipment that includes a computer, Internet connection, internet browser, sound card for playing music on external speakers and speakers. What’s more, with the introduction of new Wi-fi internet radio, you do not even need a computer. Now, you can play wireless radio at any place in your house. There are sophisticated Wi-fi Internet radios available now, which are available complete with speakers, are portable and do not require a computer. You can place them anywhere. Depending on the company that you buy the device from, you can get excellent sound quality, as good as a CD and with amplifiers added to it, you get the perfect rocking music experience. What more could we ask for? Internet radio is free. So, once you have all the equipment in place, you can enjoy free music and entertainment anytime, anywhere.

With so many features, Wi-fi Internet radio is indeed yet another innovative invention that is picking up popularity and is expected to get more and more popular in the future. With Internet providing all that we need and connecting the entire world, internet radio has further integrated radio with world wide listeners.

I have a rebu crank to install in a 98 3.8 V6. Is it possible to change it without pulling the transmission?

November 3rd, 2010

Question by wil w: I have a rebu crank to install in a 98 3.8 V6. Is it possible to change it without pulling the transmission?
The oil pan is off. I had a bad connecting rod. I sent for a rebuilt crank and rod and new bearings.

Best answer:

Answer by Old Man Dirt
No it is not possible. Attached to the transmission end is either a fly wheel or a flex-plate. There is no way to unfasten this component with the engine still bolted to the transmission.

9/11 Debate: Loose Change vs. Popular Mechanics pt. 4

June 20th, 2010

September 11, 2001 – five years after the attacks many people are asking questions about what happened on that day in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania. Websites, articles, books and documentaries have put forward a variety of alternate theories to the government’s account of what happened. The most popular of these is a documentary called “Loose Change.” Now, a book dealing with many of these theories has just been published by the magazine Popular Mechanics, it’s called “Debunking 9/11 Myths: Why Conspiracy Theories Can’t Stand Up to the Facts.” In a Democracy Now! national broadcast exclusive, we host a debate between the filmmakers of Loose Change and the editors of Popular Mechanics on 9/11.

Hydrology in an Era of Global Change

June 6th, 2010

The American Metereological Society presents Dennis Lettenmaier, professor of civil and environmental engineering at the University of Washington as he delivers the 2008 Robert E. Horton Lecture in Hydrology. In this lecture, Lettenmaier traces the history of how hydrologists and meteorologists have helped us to understand the water cycle. As hydrology moves from a qualitative to quantitative science, some are concerned about whether we will be able to answer questions essential to our nation and our world in this era of global change. Lettenmaier uses a projection of the water resources at the Colorado River Basin as a key example of this concern.
