I good friend had a relationship end in domestiv violence. She’s young, kind and the father has begun to threaten to take her daughter. She has family in washington, can she safely move from oregon to washington? No custody order is in place.

So, technically pre-custody order either parent can move with the child legally-there are some other implications to this that may not play out in her best interest in court-but she can do it. I am planning to do a road trip this weekend, driving from washington, DC to the following places.
1. Buffalo, NY
2. Niagara Falls
3. New York City (New Year’s Eve)
4. Boston
5. Philadelphia
6. Back to Washingon, DC
How are the road conditions travelling around these routes? I haven’t driven in the snow before and is concerned about the drive.
Any other form of alternatives tpt to suggest?

As you probably already know, the roads in southern NJ backs up horribly on any day, let alone a long weekend. There is a route that goes through Penn., look that up.
NYC will be packed on New Years, stay away from Times Square on the car, do it on foot, if anything.
Central and Northern NY isn’t that bad.
Also, we aren’t expecting any snow this coming weekend. Although you should give yourself some more time in traveling from place to place Buffalo and Niagara get pretty bad.

Washington was saying that the US was to be an example to the world that our chance to form a political system that would allow the average person be as powerful as the elite when it came to living one’s life with all the freedoms that a person could in terms of not having to pay outrageous amounts of taxes for the elite but little for the common man. Further, the political system would ideally work for the people in terms roads, canals so that goods could move farther and quicker. The form of government was for people to determine who would represent them the in Congress, and if they weren’t satisfied they could change their representative at the ballot box. It was a unique form of government because it has lasted some 200 yrs without the freedoms being eroded.

Because they have absolutely nothing to do with each other. Washington D.C. is the capital of the U.S. and was named after George Washington. Washington state just happens to be named after him too Just like there are many places in different parts of the country with the same name…like the cities of Palm Springs California and Palm Springs Florida. Or the 13 different towns named Springfield. There is also a Portland in Oregon and a Portland in Maine.
