Culpeper Air Fest will act as a property base on Friday-October 10 the ground-breaking Potomac Flight, a distinctive flyover of Washington D.C.’s greatest landmarks including the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery. This once-in-a-lifetime trip will feature the North American T-6 Texans – a 2 seat aircraft used as the advanced level trainer for World War II pilots. Designed by united states Aviation, Inc., and very first flown in 1938, the “Texan” quickly became the most popular trainer aircraft the U.S. Military in 1940’s and 1950’s. Over 15,000 “Texans” had been built between 1938 and 1947, and around 400 remain traveling today. On October 10 approximately thirty of the “Texans” will introduce from Culpeper Regional Airport and can soar in development down the Potomac River. The flyover in skies within the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery will be honoring Disabled American Veterans as a visible and fitting tribute towards the services and sacrifices veterans have made for our freedom. This ceremonial formation trip will soon be visible from Alexandria, Arlington and Rosslyn, VA.
