Where the gossip really gets bad is on sites like FSUACB.com, the Florida State University forum on CollegeLeak.com. If I tried to list all the racist, sexist, homophobic, idiotic and/or trolling comments made on FSUACB.com in the last week alone, this article would be longer than most of George R. R. I have to admit that on the list of things I don’t understand, people’s obsessions with one another’s lives are pretty high up there. I’m not even talking about celebrities; I’m talking about the way college students use social media to satisfy their fixation with their peers.

I get it though. I can see how easy it is to get sucked into caring about the gossip of who made out with who last night, and I understand the appeal of sites like CollegeLeak.com, which allows students to post anonymously about whatever they want in university specific forums.

And frankly, it’s pretty hilarious to see a montage of pictures showing the same man or woman making out with two or three different people in public in the same night. Why do I think it’s hilarious? Because I think if someone is so oblivious as to start sucking face with a stranger in the middle of a bar, they are more than fair game for jokes on the Internet. It’s not about judging or shaming people; at least that’s not how I see it.

R. Martin’s books. In all seriousness, to give people anonymity on the Internet is to give them free reign to unleash all the worst things that come to mind.

And as much as I would like to write that I’m blindsided or horrified by these websites, I can’t. I can’t say that because I think all the anonymous bashing or complaining or pictures of couples making out really isn’t that big a deal.

If you make out in public, don’t claim your privacy was violated when you find a picture of yourself in the act online. Is it creepy to take pictures of couples making out in public? Maybe. It is a hell of a lot less creepy than spying on couples in the privacy of a house or apartment, and it’s definitely not a violation of privacy. If anything, my witnessing two people snogging in the middle of a bar is more upsetting than the idea of pictures of said snoggers being posted online.

But it doesn’t matter either way. Some anonymous Internet troll who posts stupid or even racist comments that are downright libel can’t really hurt you. Sure, it would be embarrassing for someone to see a picture of themselves on @SeminoleMakeouts, a Twitter account that tweets pictures of random Tallahassee college students making out, but it’s not the end of the world.

As far as the anonymous racism, hate and trolling goes, I have to say the best thing to do is ignore it. Even the worst of it would likely be found by a court to fall under freedom of speech, and even the worst of it is just the ranting of someone who is probably having a day much worse than yours. To me, the only appropriate reaction here is pity. Pity the people whose lives are so empty that they need to resort to anonymous Internet trolling, and then just continue on with your day. Otherwise, you’re just playing into their stupidity.

…..item 2)…. ‘F*** me! I can’t even f***ing talk’: Rookie TV news reporter drops TWO F-bombs just seconds apart …

Yet another television news reporter has found herself in hot water after dropping not one, but two F-bombs just seconds apart in a segment about strawberry picking for a Washington state Fox affiliate.

In the now viral video which was aired Friday night, KHQ Spokane reporter Linsday Nadrich became tongue-tied and let the pair of profanities slip in quick succession not in a live shot, but rather in a pre-recorded video, which then somehow ended up being aired during the 10pm news show.

‘Despite the rain, I do have to tell you it’s worth the drive and worth fighting this rain condition,’ Nadrich said, then adding, ‘f*** me! I can’t even f***ing talk.’

With a grin on her face, the blond on-air personality then topped off her already blooper-packed clip by appearing to pick a wedgie.

When the segment was broadcast, the news station aired the expletive-laden take, which was followed by a priceless reaction for the anchor who stared into the camera for a few seconds, visibly shaken, before apologizing and moving on to a report about peace talks between the U.S. and the Taliban.

‘We definitely apologize for that editing error in that story,’ the embarrassed news presenter said.

5 Stars = Masterpiece

I turned on to King’s X way before I knew they were going to be King’s X. Let me explain. I was a talent buyer for a room here in my home town in 1985. I booked a lot of bands (when not using my own) through a talent agency up in the Twin Cities, Variety/Excelsior Talent. They sent me a promo pack & full length LP of one of their top bands at the time, Sneak Preview (aptly named). I listened to the record & it was not bad, but it just was not what I was looking to book in that room at the time, mostly cover bands playing Led Zeppelin, Rush, Ted Nugent, Black Sabbath, etc. So the album sat for years in my collection gathering dust, also some dummy (DAVE ARE YOU READING THIS?) spilled beer on it. Well, as some may well know, Sneek Preview later moved to Texas from their hometowm of Springfield, MO. They then changed their name to King’s X.

Forward to 1989, I was watching the "Head Banger’s Ball," on MTV. The "Head Banger’s Ball" was turning me on to all sorts of great acts. This was when MTV was about the music, not the shambles it is today. King’s X came on with their killer song from "Gretchen Goes to Nebraska," "Over My Head," & I was HOOKED!!! I had to have the album it came from & went out directly & bought it. WOW!!! It did not disappoint me! "Gretchen Goes to Nebraska," may well be my favorite album from the 80’s, though Living Colour’s "Vivid," is right there to. With "Gretchen," King’s X mixed all their influence’s, which just happens to be some of my favorite bands, into an intoxicating gumbo of epic scale! There was a cup of Rush, a cup of Hendrix, a cup of Pink Floyd, a several dashes of Pat Travers to funk things up, & sprinkled all on top of this hot gumbo stew was, Beatlesque harmonies, & that SOUFUL voice of bassist Doug Pinnick! Guitarist Ty Tabor’s command of his instrument bubbled & percolated the base for a tasty pot of pyrotechnics. While drummer Jerry Gaskill thickened & stirred this mix to perfect consistency. All pouring out with an exotic taste & fragrance of the finest ingredients cooked to perfection. Yes, my ears & brain grew fat feeding on this dish of dishes. Not a single bad ingredient in "Gretchen." "Gretchen" could be smoking hot with the funk/metal of "Over My Head," "Everybody Knows a Little Bit of Something," & "Fall on Me." It could be as soothing as ice cream on a hot summer day with the acoustic, "Summerland," & The Difference." "Gretchen" could be bold & strong tasting with the majestic monolithic ramparts that are "The Mission," I’ll Never be the Same," "Pleiades," "Don’t Believe it," & "Send a Message." "Gretchen" then had its exotic spice, "Out of the Silent Planet," & "The Burning Down." My ears just could not get enough. My brain could not inhale enough of this sweet opium for my muse. I was hopelessly addicted & 21 years after, I’ve not found a cure, nor want one.

If you can only buy one King’s X album, then "Gretchen Goes to Nebraska," is your ship. Turn it on, turn it up, & sail away!

1. Out Of The Silent Planet
2. Over My Head
3. Summerland
4. Everyone Know’s A Little Bit Of Something
5. The Difference ( in the garden of St. Anne’s-on-the-hill)

6. I’ll Never Be The Same
7. Mission
8. Fall On Me
9. Pleiades
10. Don’t Believe It (it’s easier said than done)
