Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds: Live at Radio City Music Hall [Blu-ray]

Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds: Live at Radio City Music Hall [Blu-ray]

In April 2007, Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds embarked on a 3-city theatre tour, culminating with a performance in the intimate confines of Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Due to the smaller sized venues and extremely limited number of dates, tickets were practically impossible to get, making this new 2 disc Blu-ray set all the more desirable to the huge Dave Matthews Band fanbase. LIVE AT RADIO CITY marks the first time in almost ten years that Dave and Tim have released an album. Their last album was the wildly successful, multi-platinum LIVE AT LUTHER COLLEGE. This is the first-ever Blu-ray Disc released by the duo. LIVE AT RADIO CITY features over 2 1/2 hours of music, capturing all 26 songs of Dave and Tim’s performance. The performance includes numerous songs that have never been recorded by the two, including Crush, Grace Is Gone, Don t Drink The Water, Gravedigger and many more.

Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround Sound (96kHz/24bit)
Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound (640 kbps)Socialites in the Hamptons paid up to ,000 for the privilege of seeing this duo in action just a few weeks before the release of Live at Radio City Music Hall. Not that it was any easier to get tickets to the April 22, 2007, concert in New York that produced this recording, available on CD or DVD with high-definition 5.1 surround sound and an additional 46-minute film of backstage footage. The acoustic set features the veteran musicians performing for nearly two-and-a-half hours–and you get the feeling they could have easily kept going. Reynolds gets his solo turn on “Betrayal” and “You Are My Sanity,” but it’s a chatty Matthews who seems to be relishing the occasion more, stripping down some of his band’s most popular songs (“Lie in Our Graves,” “Two Step”) while giving the fans a sneak peek at a couple of its new ones (“Eh Hee,” “Cornbread”). The guy’s even thrown in a few covers for kicks, including Neil Young’s “Down by the River” and Daniel Lanois’ “The Maker.” In terms of audio quality and packaging, it marks a vast improvement over the pair’s first release, 1999′s Live at Luther College. And the best part is that it doesn’t cost more than a yacht. –Aidin Vaziri

Dave Matthews Band Tickets – Summer Tour 2010

Dave Matthews Band Tickets – Summer Tour 2010

The Dave Matthews band is made up of Matthews, Stefan Lessard, Leroi Moore, Boyd Tinsley, and Carter Beauford. The group is best known for the unmistakable sound that is a more pop-oriented version of the Grateful Dead crossed with the worldbeat explorations of Paul Simon and Sting. Dave Matthews built up a strong word-of-mouth following in the early ’90s by touring the country constantly, concentrating on college campuses.

In the past decade, Dave Matthews Band has earned the distinct honor of being the biggest concert ticket seller worldwide, selling upwards of a whopping 11 million tickets to 547 shows from 2000-2009, according to Billboard. In fact, DMB were the only group to exceed 10 million in attendance for the period. Now that’s what I call putting asses in the seats. Additionally, the band has sold over 17 million tickets since its inception. Basically, a lot of people head out to see “Dave” and drink beers and singalong to his regular guy rock anthems!

With preparations underway for its 20th consecutive summer tour, the group will actually be taking a break soon! DMB recently told fans that they will be taking next year off. “We feel lucky that our tours are a part of so many people’s lives,” Dave Matthews Band said collectively in a statement posted on the band website earlier this month. “We’re excited to make this summer one of our best tours yet, and look forward to returning to the road in 2012.” So if you are a huge DMB worshipper, get out to see the band this summer, since you won’t have a chance next year. From the looks of their packed itinerary, posted below, the band will be hitting your market, no matter where you live! The list features date, venue, location, opening act.

During the summer tour this time, the Dave Matthews Band will perform in various places like Hartford, Toronto, New York, Mansfield, Cincinnati, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Wisconsin, Philadelphia, Virginia, Florida, Washington DC, California and Texas. The summer tour which begins in CT Comcast Theatre in Hartford on May 28, ends at MN Xcel Energy Center, St Paul on September 15.

The Dave Matthews band, consists of Dave Matthews, Stefan Lessard, Leroi Moore, Boyd Tinsley, and Carter Beauford. The pop band focuses on songs about women, drugs, living life to the fullest and certain political messages. In the beginning, it concentrated on word of mouth to publicise its music and gave tours across the country in college campuses.
