Mobile Entertainment Radios For All Cars!!

Auto Radios are mainly present in classic cars based on customer’s choice in entertainment. Apart from making these automobiles look classy and yet original, they add a fair amount of enjoyment to the driver. The major auto-radios include the USB FM Radio; i pod FM Radio, Secret Hidden Radio and many more.

The USB FM Radio consists of the USA 630 models which consumes around 240 Watts power and features FM/AM/USB Flash Drive player and a direct CD Controlling mechanism. This USB Interface exquisitely plays both MP3 and WMA files. It contains an alpha numeric display for these files. Apart from these, its other features include a separate Bass and Treble, front and rear fader, a digital clock, automatic antenna lead, electronic tuning and volume regulators and many more. It also provides a package of 12 FM and 4 AM pre-sets with other irresistible offers. This autoradio can provide a smooth drive for every individual and make them enjoy their journey. It is suitable for all kinds of cars.

The i-pod FM Radio comes under the USA-230 model which is a much upgraded version of the USB FM Radio. It has some similar features of the USA 630 but has surpassed it with some of its finest cosmetics. This autoradio accessory does not have any MP3/USB or CD changing control and neither does it have a cassette. However it has an auxiliary audio input. Any portable Satellite Radio player or an MP3 player can be plugged into this input and listen through this auto radio.

This Autoradio runs at around 200 Watts and has other features such as AM-FM stereo set, digital clock, 30 pre-sets, electronic tuner, four- way fader, power antenna lead and so on. This autoradio is designed and modified to fit in every kind of car. The Secret Hidden Radio is the latest version of all the auto radios, being released during August 2009.
The autoradio accessories include Battery Lifesaver, Auxiliary Auto Switcher, USB MP3 Decoder, Hide-Away Antenna, No Noise Filter, Memory Maintenance Module, Voltage Booster and Power Inverter.

The Battery Lifesaver removes the corrosion occurred on the plates of the battery and hence recovers the capacity of the lead acid battery. The Auxiliary Audio Changer allows the driver to add an external auxiliary RCA source to the radio and still be able to maintain the Custom Auto sound Changer. The Hide-Away Antenna is quite compact and can be mounted on the inside top of the windshield. This provides the best reception to the signals just as any normal antenna does.

But being small and easy to fix, it provides an advantage. The No-Noise filter extinguishes all the unwanted motor and engine sounds which occur once the stereo system is installed. The memory maintenance module is mainly used for radios which require a separate input for clock or memory functions. They are generally used with PGPI-HC and NGVB-HC. The Voltage Booster draws negligible current even when no load is provided. It is very well designed to operate at 12 volt negative ground devices from 6-8 volt negative ground systems. The power inverter is also similar to that of the voltage booster. It uses a common ground and hence no isolation of equipments is required.

Free Movie Tickets in Exchange for Old Mobile Phones Recycled

Free Movie Tickets in Exchange for Old Mobile Phones Recycled

The Johnson Imax Theater at the National Museum of Natural History has joined Nokia in an environmental initiative that provides free movie admission to visitors in exchange for their old mobile phones. From Nov. 15 through Nov. 22, guests who present a cell phone for recycling at the theater’s box offices will receive one free admission to “Wild Ocean 3D,” the latest in the theater’s ocean-related Imax film series.

“Wild Ocean 3D” reveals the effects that climate change and overfishing have had on the fragile ecosystem off the KwaZulu-Natal Coast in South Africa in a rhythmically and visually stunning way. As the film’s sponsor and presenting theater, Nokia and Smithsonian Theaters have created this initiative as a means to educate visitors on this global change and demonstrate the positive impact of efforts as small as recycling a cell phone on our natural resources.

Mobile devices and accessories contain raw materials that can be reused in many ways, such as to make new parts for bikes or even dental fillings. However, only 3 percent of people who own a mobile phone claim to have recycled an old device. To raise consumer awareness and encourage people to recycle their old mobile devices, Nokia operates the largest voluntary mobile phone recycling program in the world, accepting any mobile device from any manufacturer at special recycling events such as this “Wild Ocean 3D” viewing, and on a continual basis at approximately 5,000 locations in 85 countries.

The Johnson Theater is adjacent to the Sant Ocean Hall in the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History at 10th Street and Constitution Avenue N.W. in Washington, D.C. Box offices are located in the museum’s rotunda and in the theater lobby. Cell phones will be collected during standard box office hours. More information on this initiative and on Smithsonian Theaters’ schedules can be obtained at http://www.si.edu/imax/

WKYS has been one of the DC areas premeired radio stations for several decades. At one time it really was a progressive station. They weren’t afraid to mix genres as long as you could dance to it. Here’s a clip from early 1980 as the Police’s “Voices In My Head” leads into Yarborough and People’s “Don’t Stop the Music” with DJ bante afterward. If a DJ played the Police on WKYS TODAY, he’d be SHOT.

Creating a Simple Mobile Pirate Radio Station

June 5th, 2010

Pirate radio stations are have become something of a fad during the past 30 years as the technology has become more available and especially in the last 10 years as digital media has become THE way to listen to music. Starting a radio station may be easier than most people realize, especially with some of the tools that are readily available now.

Most radio stations use a Trylon tower or some other variety of radio tower. Additionally, radio pirates have been known to modify WISP towers to broadcast a signal. The FCC has very strict regulations on the use of WISP towers, Trylon towers and all other broadcast devices and you should research their guidelines and follow all laws and regulations implicitly. However, if you keep broadcast frequencies within the limits, there’s a lot of fun to be had.

iPods and other MP3 players hold large amounts of media, and can be used to start small, low frequency pirate radio stations without the use of a large radio tower. There are a wide selection of FM frequency transmitters available for MP3 players that can help you create a low-frequency channel.

To modify an FM modulator, you will need to access the internal antenna. By exposing the antenna from the plastic cover you can significantly increase the range of the FM transmitter. Be forewarned however that this will, in all likelihood, void the warranty. There are some creative ways to boost the signal beyond this, by using small antennas, but you run the risk of damaging your device if you are not careful.

After exposing the antenna, you will need to make sure you have access to all of the available FM frequencies that your MP3 players. Some transmitters come pre-programmed, but others may require you to install software. Once the FM transmitter is ready, you can begin to broadcast a mobile pirate radio station.

If you have ever used a device that uses FM modulation you might have been sitting at a red light and noticed that you can hear music from another care nearby. This is the basic principle in mobile-pirate radio. If you can create an FM frequency that is strong enough to disturb others, and you can broadcast that frequency across multiple bands, you can create a pirate radio station without the aid of expensive radio towers.

This activity can be fun and enjoyable especially when you run across people who insist upon rolling their windows down and blasting the radio at its highest volume. Using your newly created MP3 player pirate radio station, you can take matters into your own hands and have a little fun at the same time. Imagine replacing Hip Hop with Classical Standards… That’s entertainment.

Art Gib writes for Champion Radio (http://www.championradio.com), an online merchant providing Trylon towers, WISP towers and a variety of radio tower products.
