Is There Free Government Money to Claim?

May 23rd, 2012

We hear this question a lot these days. And the answer is, yes, there most definitely is free government money available to almost anyone. Billions and billions of dollars of it. I know it sounds crazy, but it’s true. The largest sources of free government money are government grants. Commonly referred to as state or federal grants.

The difference and advantage between free grants and bank acquired loans is that you are not ever obligated to repay a government grant and there is no interest. The amount of and conditions of free money from the government, “grant money”, is determined by the type of assistance that each individual is in need of.

If you are in need of free government money to enhance your college education, the government has several types of grants for you to apply for. The most widely known and applied for are federal Pell grants, institutional grants, supplemental education opportunity grants and state grants. Generally, institutional grants are offered to students by the colleges themselves once it’s been established that the state and federal assistance grants will not be enough to finance the complete tuition.

There are also a wide variety of government grants available to help start a business, purchase a home, remodel a home, pay off credit card debt and many more things. You just have to know where to look for free government money and establish which government grants you are eligible for.

You can most definitely receive free government money once you meet the eligibility requirements of a particular grant program. Anyone and everyone is eligible for some form of free government money. You just need to be aware of the available free government money and grants that can help you in your financial problems.

It’s a real shame that so many people will never apply for free government money these programs because they somehow they simply don’t know who to contact for this money. There are virtually hundreds of different government free money programs available to communities, the unemployed, under employed, youth services, college students, businesses and many other people and projects. If you are one of the many Americans today who are in need of financial assistance, then applying for free government money is something for you to explore. Free government money is also tax free and you will never have to pay it back. Not a cent!

The fact is, that people from all walks of life do receive funding daily as well as many other fantastic benefits from the federal government and many other non-profit organizations everyday, year after year. So why shouldn’t you?

If you are one of the many new business owners and could use funding from grants, venture capital, investors and many other funding sources to start or expand your business, apply for government grants today! College student or parents paying college tuition, apply today! Single working moms needing help with day care expenses, apply today! Whoever you are and whatever your needs, apply for free government money today!

See if you qualify to receive free grant money right now. Millions of Americans are benefiting from obtaining these funds, and you can too. All you need to do is ask to get government money

The 2 billion stimulus bill that was supposed to rescue the American economy instead mired it in billions of ill-advised spending, two GOP senators charged Tuesday.

Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., and Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, issued their latest report on the wasteful spending in the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Their report cites some 100 cases of wasted stimulus money. The senators report that "misdirected government spending" has actually hurt small businesses in some cases by pulling them away from more productive activity.

Coburn and McCain provided several examples of legislative pork and wasteful spending in their "Summertime Blues" report, which is subtitled "100 stimulus projects that give taxpayers the blues."

The Citizens Against Government Waste watchdog organization hailed the study on Tuesday. "President Obama talks incessantly about wasteful government spending and reining in the budget deficit," CAGW President Tom Schatz said in a statement, "yet his policies do the opposite and end up spending more taxpayer money than any previous president."

The top 10 most wasteful projects, according to the senators’ report:

1. Over half a million dollars was spent to replace the windows in a visitor center at Mount St. Helens. The only problem is that center closed nearly three years ago due to lack of use.

2. Three-quarters of a million dollars went to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte to create a computerized dance-choreography program. The university’s overhead is 44 percent of the grant, the report stated.

3. million was allocated for the North Shore Connector, which provides light rail transportation to a casino and two sports stadiums in Pittsburgh. In February 2009 Gov. Ed Rendell, a Democrat, called the project a "tragic mistake."

4. .3 million for the construction of two fire stations in San Antonio, Texas. The senators report the city was about to build the stations itself when the federal funding came along. Since then, compliance with federal regulations has caused so many delays no one is sure now when the stations will be built, they say.

5. Some .2 million was set aside to convert an abandoned train station into a museum in Glassboro, N.J. Federal authorities provided 0,000 to buy the structure in 2002, but little or no work has been done there. Now they’re going to invest another million to change the graffiti-riddled station, which was built in 1860, into a "museum and welcome center."

6. Nearly million is going to the California Academy of Sciences to send researchers to island in the Southwest Indian Ocean and to East Africa to photograph ants. The pictures will be posted on a Web site devoted to ants.

7. A .8 million road project in Ohio is being built so close to a pastor’s house that it has cracked his foundation, and a massive crane has struck his front porch twice.

8. In 2004, the federal government provided 1,000 to refurbish the old Fitchburg Furnace building in Fitchburg, Ky. The treasurer of the Friends of Fitchburg organization, however, says much of that money was lost due to "bad stewardship of money." Now, thanks to the stimulus, the project is receiving another 0,000.

9. In Kern County, Calif., the government is investing 8 million for a power plant to "generate more environmentally friendly electricity by capturing carbon dioxide from the burning of fossil fuels." It’s hard to see how the money will stimulate the economy … groundbreaking isn’t scheduled until December 2011.

10. Folks in Boynton, Okla., are perplexed because their town won ,298 to build a quarter-mile long sidewalk. The new sidewalk leads to a ditch, and replaces one still in good condition that was built just five years ago.

The report also highlights two controversial studies of primates. Georgia State University researchers won 7,462 to compare how monkeys and chimpanzees respond to "distributional inequality" and "unfairness." Another ,623 went to Wake Forest University to study how monkeys react under the influence of cocaine.

“The President promised that 90 percent of the jobs created would be in the private sector and that unemployment would drop to 8 percent, but the only positive job creation has been in the public sector, as private sector unemployment has risen to 9.5 percent,” said CAGW President Tom Schatz. “The administration’s spokespersons have been all over the board on jobs creation numbers, claiming anywhere from 640,000 to 2 million; yet the numbers show more than 3.4 million jobs have been lost since President Obama promised to create more than 3 million jobs when he announced the stimulus package 18 months ago. While touting the stimulus as part of the effort to get the country out of the Great Recession, all it has done is help to create the Great Debt.”

The 74-page report scrutinized 100 stimulus projects. A news report by CNBC highlighted the fact that the study “spotlights everything from federal stimulus money that went to study the effects of cocaine on monkeys to dollars that went to construction projects that blocked access to local businesses – which laid off employees as a result.”

“President Obama talks incessantly about wasteful government spending and reining in the budget deficit, yet his policies do the opposite and end up spending more taxpayer money than any previous President. In fact, President Obama and Congress have increased discretionary spending by 84 percent,” continued Schatz. “The stimulus is part of a large down payment on a long-term legacy of fiscal woe, as the national debt will nearly double in the next 10 years. In the prescient words of CAGW co-founder J. Peter Grace, ‘we’re mortgaging our children’s future…we’re robbing piggy banks, we’re taxing our defenseless children without representation. … It’s unforgivable.’”

Citizens Against Government Waste is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating waste, fraud, mismanagement and abuse in government.

How do you feel about a private donor giving the money to repair the Washington Monument?

March 4th, 2012

Question by pdooma: How do you feel about a private donor giving the money to repair the Washington Monument?
The Federal government doesn’t have the money to repair the monument and asked for someone in the private sector to donate the funds. David Rubenstein is writing a check.
He founded the Carlyle group, which is a global private equity group. He is the 1%.

It’s a good thing he stepped up because we know there’s absolutely no way that House Republicans ever would have approved the funding.

Do you think the Washington DC Metro is trying to save energy, or make more money?

Question by conservativeguyfromnc: Do you think the Washington DC Metro is trying to save energy, or make more money?
They are claiming to be running at lower capacity during this heat wave, to “prevent blackouts” in the DC Metro Region.

Given the Metro’s historically poor management, and given the Metros’s need to become more profitable, do you think the Washington DC Metro is taking advantage of this heat wave to increase it’s Passenger per train ratio? Thereby making the Metro more profitable?

Best answer:

Answer by ratpac7_10519
honestly, i think they are trying to cut back on power usage, as are other subways around the country, aka MBTA in Boston and MTA in New York City. the amount of people getting on one train is irrelevant, as it only matters how many people go through the turnstyles with a ticket, to access the trains themselves, and not the volume of people on one train

What do you think? Answer below!
