Have A Well Planned Washington Dc School Trip

June 29th, 2016

There are several things which you need to put in place for every journey which you organize. The most essential part of any tour however is the planning for the Washington DC school trip. This is important for any destination that you may be thinking about visiting. Get services from a company that deals with the ages of children you have in your list so as to give them the treat of a lifetime.

One thing you need to look out for is the company whose services would suit your students. Check out the curriculum being offered by the touring company so as to be sure if it is customized to your scope for the tour. Other that giving the students a chance to have some fun, you definitely have reason to give them some lessons which you will only be able to get better in particular places.

Make sure that the price which you are being given is realistic enough for the kind of budget you are working with. As you plan your Washington DC school trip, make sure that you put details like the food preferences of your students into consideration. Any special dietary requirements and allergy concerns need to be clearly indicated.

It would be necessary for you to have a list of things which you need to do. This will make it certain that nothing is forgotten when you are out on your expedition. Grouping the students on manageable numbers will also make them easy to control and direct during the whole journey.

Have a clear list of mandatory items that the students should bring on their Washington DC school trip. With everything put in place, you will be certain that the safety of the students you take on the tour is well considered and that they will get real fun from the expedition or adventure.

Was it an accident… or was it planned? fm Secretary of Education William Bennet = Student of Leo Strauss?

September 6th, 2012

Question by : Was it an accident… or was it planned? fm Secretary of Education William Bennet = Student of Leo Strauss?
Leo Strauss was a student of Nazi Germany…….. taught the culture of Nazi Germany to many US leaders

then suddenly these students of Leo Strauss ended up in D.C. …….

students of Leo Strauss = Former Secretary of Education William Bennet………..Justice Clarence Thomas; Supreme Court nominee Robert Bork; Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz;; Weekly Standard editor and former Quayle Chief of Staff William Kristol; Allan Bloom, author of The Closing of the American Mind; former New York Post editorials editor John Podhoretz; former National Endowment for the Humanities Deputy Chairman John T. Agresto;

Critics of Strauss accuse him of being elitist, illiberalist and anti-democratic. Shadia Drury, in Leo Strauss and the American Right (1999), argues that Strauss inculcated an elitist strain in American political leaders linked to imperialist militarism, neoconservatism and Christian fundamentalism. Drury argues that Strauss teaches that “perpetual deception of the citizens by those in power is critical because they need to be led, and they need strong rulers to tell them what’s good for them.” Nicholas Xenos similarly argues that Strauss was “an anti-democrat in a fundamental sense, a true reactionary. According to Xenos, “Strauss was somebody who wanted to go back to a previous, pre-liberal, pre-bourgeois era of blood and guts, of imperial domination, of authoritarian rule, of pure fascist

The United States policies are being run by an obscure German Jewish political philosopher whose views were elitist, amoral and hostile to democratic government? Suddenly, political Washington is abuzz about Leo Strauss, who arrived in the US in 1938 and taught at several major universities before his death in 1973.

A Planned Community

July 1st, 2011

A Planned Community

Columbia, Maryland is a planned community that is located in Howard County. The community is made up of ten independent villages. Columbia is a suburb of Baltimore and Washington, DC. The city was created to enhance the quality of life of its residents. The concept was to create a small town feel that was free of income, racial, and religious segregation. The city has a population of approximately 97,200 people. It has a total area of 71.6 square kilometers (27.7 square miles) with 71.4 square kilometers (27.6 square miles) of land and 0.3 square kilometers (0.1 square miles) of water. Columbia is situated in the Piedmont region of Maryland. The climate is characterized by hot and humid summers and cold and wet winters. There are stream valleys and rolling hills in the city. The Little Patuxent River and Middle Patuxent River and three artificial lakes (Lake Elkholm, Lake Kittamaqundi, and Wilde Lake) are located in the city. Each village includes many neighborhoods, a community center, recreational facilities, shopping centers, schools, and walking/bike paths. Some of the villages have interfaith centers. The villages are Dorsey’s Search, Harper’s Choice, Hickory Ridge, Kings Contrivance, Long Reach, Oakland Mills, Owen Brown, River Hill, Town Center, and Wilde Lake. The street names are named after famous art and literature works. Money Magazine ranked Columbia forth out of the hundred “Best Places to Live” in the United States in 2006. Columbia was ranked number eight in 2008. The Howard County Public School System manages the public schools. The Mall of Columbia is the biggest shopping mall in the region. It has five anchor stores, over 200 hundred stores and restaurants, and a large movie theater with 14 screens. The mall is located in the village of Town Center. The shopping centers in each village are situated so that the stores are not easily seen from the road. Recreation is an important aspect of Columbia. The recreational facilities are maintained and operated by the homeowners association, the Columbia Association or CA. There are six indoor swimming pools, twenty-three outdoor swimming pools, two water slides, an equestrian center, ice and roller skating rinks, a skateboard park, picnic pavilions, a sports park with miniature golf, many indoor and outdoor tennis, batting cages, running tracks, clubhouse and playground, basketball, volleyball, squash and racquetball courts, and three athletic clubs including the 24/7 Supreme Sports Club. Lifetime Fitness was recently opened. There are many activities around the lakes such as biking, boating, fishing, jogging, sailing, and strolling. There are also children’s play areas. Many celebrations and fairs occur throughout the year such as the Columbia Festival of the Arts, and the summer lakeside entertainment on Lake Kittamaqundi. There are many famous people from Columbia. Edward Norton, an actor who has been nominated for many Academy Awards made his professional debut when he was 8 years old at Toby’s Dinner Theatre in the village of Town Center. Edward Norton is also the grandson of Columbia’s founder, James W. Rouse. Michael Chabon, D’Monroe, Stephen Hunter, JJ Kincaid, Elise Ray, and Sir Frank Whittle are also famous Columbians.
