Uses of a Two Way Radio

September 20th, 2016

A two way radio is a device that is used for sending and receiving data or signals. This type of a radio has become very popular over the past few years. The main benefit of this type of a radio is that it is portable i.e. it can be carried from one place to another. This single benefit is the main reason for the ever increasing popularity of the two way radios.

A two way radio can be used for various purposes. It has become a necessity for businesses, military, public safety, outdoor recreation etc. This type of a radio can even be used as a toy for children. This type of a radio is available in various price ranges and can be used by anyone in an easy and convenient manner.

With the advancement in technology, the two way radios have become even smaller and easier to use. In addition, these radios now come with additional capabilities that have made then fit for use in a large number of applications.

One of the main uses of a two way radio is for military purposes. Military organizations all across the world make use of this device for a large number of purposes, including communication. These types of radios are also widely used by radio operators and in radio stations. These are used for listening to different channels. These devices are also used for data transmission by radio operators. Commercial two way communication radios are the best suited for this purpose.

These devices can also be used for personal purposes. Mostly, these are used for communication purposes or to listen to different radio channels. Radios that are used for personal purposes have features like a narrow bandwidth, voice and messaging capabilities etc. These features make these devices easy to operate and convenient to handle.

These can also be used as toys. When the two way radios are used as toys that children play with, several features are incorporated in them so that they become easy to operate and safe for the children to play with. These devices are designed to work on a single frequency. Also when used as toys, these devices are made using simple transistor circuits as opposed to chips that are used in commercial radios. In addition, the cost of such a device is comparatively lower than the devices used for commercial purposes.

A transceiver is also used in marine and aviation communications. These are also used in heavy industries for various purposes. For such purposes, these radios are designed to work around flammable vapors. These radios are made to operate in such a manner that they do not produce sparks when they work. Part of the "Playing with a Borrowed D40" series.

Part of the "Wherever there’s smoke, you can’t see a bloody thing" mini-series.

Compare against the Kodachrome view shot moments before, when it was still visible to the naked eye.

With the naked eye, the sun by this point was literally invisible due to particulates blocking sunlight wavelengths in the visible spectrum. This image is literally of a near-infrared sun, the bottom here cut-off by the obscured Olympic Range. Sure, a real Martian sunset makes a blue orb. Creative licence, okay?

Edited Messenger image – one of the last that will be returned before its crash into Mercury. Messenger’s orbit around Mercury has been as low as a few hundred meters above the surface.

Original caption:
Date acquired: April 29, 2015
Image Mission Elapsed Time (MET): 72595737
Image ID: 8414772
Instrument: Narrow Angle Camera (NAC) of the Mercury Dual Imaging System (MDIS)
Center Latitude: 69.46°
Center Longitude: 229.49° E
Resolution: 1.7 meters/pixel
Scale: The largest crater in this image has a diameter of 330 meters (0.2 miles)

Of Interest: This image, acquired yesterday, is one of MESSENGER’s last. Today, the spacecraft will complete its highly successful orbital mission and impact the surface of Mercury. View this image for details of MESSENGER’s impact location. Impact is expected at 19:26:02 UTC (3:26:02 pm EDT) but will occur out of sight and communication with the Earth. The MESSENGER team will try to establish communications with the spacecraft when its orbit would allow it to be visible from Earth. The inability to establish communications between MESSENGER and the scheduled Earth-based tracking antenna will provide the first confirmation that the spacecraft has impacted the surface. After about 30 minutes following the predicted Mercury impact time, the team plans to announce whether MESSENGER’s orbital mission has come to an end.

The MESSENGER spacecraft is the first ever to orbit the planet Mercury, and the spacecraft’s seven scientific instruments and radio science investigation are unraveling the history and evolution of the Solar System’s innermost planet. In the mission’s more than four years of orbital operations, MESSENGER has acquired over 270,000 images and extensive other data sets. View highlights of the mission in this image highlights collection. MESSENGER’s highly successful orbital mission is about to come to an end, as the spacecraft runs out of propellant and the force of solar gravity causes it to impact the surface of Mercury today, April 30, 2015.

by ep_jhu

The discovery of a 2 way radio can be traced back to 1888 when it was proved by Hertz that electrical signals could be transmitted without wires. Later in 1912, transmitters and receivers were installed on marine ships so that communication could be made easy. Since then these radios are providing a lot of benefits to people from all walks of life.

Today the 2 way radios are very compact and lightweight and easy to handle. They can operate on a larger number of frequencies and can have multiple channels. These also have several other features that make these radios very user friendly and durable. These radios also find use in a lot of applications. These are used by security personnel, in taxis, businesses, schools and hospitals. These are even used at construction sites and by military organizations.

The main benefit of a 2 way radio is that it is portable. This means it can be easily carried from one place to another. These offer a simple way in which people can stay connected with each other over both short distances as well as larger distances. Another main benefit of using radios for communication purposes is that there is no charge for talking to each other. This makes these radios even more popular than cell phones where there is a per minute call charge. These radios are very easy to use. These are provided with a push button that just needs to be pushed for the transmission. This makes these radios fit for use even for children. Also these radios are manufactured keeping in mind all the regulations that have been set and thus they are also safe to use.

Another advantage of these types of radios is that they are affordable. These are available in a very good quality and their cost effectiveness has made them popular. These radios can be selected by a user on the basis of the usage and the area that needs to be covered. The users can select from either a high power radio or a low power radio depending upon the area that needs to be covered.

Many 2-way radios are also compatible with computers. This makes it possible for users to send and receive data over different computer systems. Another benefit offered by these radios is that they operate on wireless technology. This means that a user does not have to go through the hassle of arranging wires and maintaining them. Another advantage of these radios is that they have batteries that have a long life. This means that these radios can be used for transmission of data over longer distances as long as the battery has life without having to pay anything extra.

Some pictures taken at the DC Loves Dilla – 9th Annual Tribute and Fundraiser Concert held at the Howard Theatre in Washington, DC on Thusday, July 17, 2014 by Mary Nichols (DJ Fusion of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast).

James “J Dilla” Yancey was a GRAMMY award-winning producer who inspired millions with his music including artist like Common, Raekwon, Erykah Badu, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, and many many more. On February 10, 2006 just three days after his 32nd birthday, J Dilla passed away after a long time of suffering with Lupus.

Cultural Curator Munch Joseph and HedRush Music created the DC Loves Dilla movement as a way to celebrate J Dilla and honor his career works. "Carrying on the musical legacy of J Dilla for the 9th year and counting is something HedRush and myself look forward to. Personally, it’s my way of paying homage to a great creator as well as doing our part to continually add balance to urban music. Dilla’s music accomplishes that on many levels," says Munch Joseph when asked the motivation behind the Tribute Concert ad Fundraiser.

Understanding Radio Control Helicopters

September 15th, 2016

When you are looking at radio control helicopters, you will quickly find that they are not a generalized item. Instead, these items come in a variety of styles and sizes and can even range in the type of energy that is used to assist them in flying. What you will want to consider is that each of these items can have their own unique use to you.

Perhaps the best choice you have is the electric models. You will find that these are the ones that most people will use because they are user friendly and they will give you the chance to learn the basics of RC toys. Using a simple set of internal mechanisms, you will operate them with your remote and they tend to be very responsive. For a power source, these items will typically have a rechargeable battery that you will be able to remove from them.

Inside of the remote and the radio control helicopters, you will find two different transmitters. These transmitters will give you the chance to adjust the way that your helicopter flies and can be either a simple internal system or a more complex one on larger, more expensive units. Many RC toys have a variety of options attached to them.

These radio control helicopters will come with some different axel options on them. For example, you can have a coaxial helicopter as it will have a single rotor that has been placed on the central axis. In some cases, there may be a secondary rotor on the tail, although it typically isn’t needed.

RC toys that use a fixed pitch radio control in turn don’t have a collective servo. This means that you cannot adjust their rotor. But since they operate on fewer channels, many beginners will find that they work out well. Just note that those who are looking to have shows with their helicopters won’t be able to do many of the acrobatics that some of the more advanced models will allow them.

While you are looking over your options, you will also notice that there is a variety of choices you have, just keep in mind that these units will use a variety of controls. You may have a remote control that uses transmitters to increase speed and height while a simple unit may do nothing more than help you steer your helicopter from left to right.

That will be important to keep in mind, because there are so many different choices that radio control helicopters will provide you. Before you continue through the process, sit down and consider what you want to be able to do with your RC toys. From that point, you will be able to not only locate the perfect choice for your needs, but you will also be able to make the most of your experience as well. Just be sure that you pay close attention to quality and durability when you select any unit as this can vary as much as the price of the unit can.

Welcome to Elite RC Helicopter, inside you will discover an amazing selection of low priced and excellent quality
radio control helicopters.

How Radio Imaging Impacts The Public

September 14th, 2016

Radio imaging refers to the act of branding a radio station, and it is widely practiced by radio stations around the world. It makes it easier for radio listeners to identify with a radio station, and it helps the radio station achieve better positioning in the industry. It defines the concept of the radio station, and the kind of audience it is trying to reach out to.Radio imaging enables a radio station to present itself as a unique product within a radio network.

Before a radio station is set up, its owner has to decide the genre, theme, style, and mood of the station, as part of consumer packaging. The genre of the station can be anything ranging from sports to music. The type of niche created will define the kind of sports or music the radio station covers.A theme has to be created to make the station more identifiable to its audience because there may be other radio stations dealing with the same kind of genre.

It is important that the theme appeals to the target audience. With music stations, it could be “feel good music” or “soothing tunes”, and it should be accompanied by a tagline. The tagline enables listeners to judge whether a station will meet their listening needs. Also, a mood has to be created for the station, and this will reveal whether a station is funny or serious, laid back or intense, or comforting or confrontational. As part of radio imaging, most radio stations include signature filler pieces between programs, commercials, songs, and commentaries, usually lasting no more than 20 seconds. The type of filler pieces commonly used often include: intros, jingles, promos, liners, stingers, sweepers, and bumpers. These fillers create smoother transitions during broadcasting as well as enhance the image of the radio station.

To make radio imaging more successful, a radio station should employ people who possess exceptional voice talent. A distinct and captivating voice can immediately contribute to the unique personality of a station and listeners will become more attached to the voice as time goes by. Skilled voice over talent will give the appropriate tone and energy to create the right mood for the radio show, capturing the listeners interest. In fact, many radio listeners remain loyal to certain stations because they are regular listeners of a particular program hosted by a talented presenter. It’s for that reason that many top rated radio stations pay huge sums to get well known voices to work for them.Radio imaging is an important part of a radio station’s marketing efforts; it contributes greatly to its survival and success in the competitive radio industry. All the leading radio stations in the world have very elaborate strategies for radio imaging and even lesser-known stations are aware of the effectiveness of this great marketing tool.
