Come learn more about the National Park Service’s role as warden of historical locations. This Wednesday lunchtime lecture series spotlights several Park Service sites in greater Washington, DC that reflect significant people and places associated with African American history.
Robert T. Parker, superintendent of Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Historical Park, will evoke the life and times of the woman who risked her life on the Underground Railroad rescuing African Americans from slavery and scouted for the Union Army during the Civil War. The National Historical Park is located in Cambridge, Maryland.

Kollaboration DC will be hosting a series of Live Spotlight competitive events to highlight the best talent from the DC area and to celebrate the local artist community. This year, the winner from the Kollaboration DC Competition will be given the chance to advance and compete at the Kollaboration STAR event on November 12th, 2016 in Los Angeles. The winner of Kollaboration STAR will take home a grand prize of ,000 in cash and prizes. Both Kollaboration DC and Kollaboration STAR are fantastic opportunities for rising Asian American and Pacific Islander artists to gain experience as performers and exposure. "…full-throated alt-pop band with four lead singers – delivering crushing harmonies and a most electrifying live experience… Their music touches on all aspects of Americana Gospel, Country, Blue Grass, and Blues. That said, the songs are strong pop and have wide appeal." Seymour Stein, co-founder Sire Records and VP at Warner Bros. Records Live performances are where Delta Rae truly flourish. They've spent the last year and a half playing to sold out venues from coast to coast, even sharing the stage with First Lady Michelle Obama. They've played pretty much every festival under the sun, including Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, and Voodoo and are excited to be hitting the road again this spring.
