Best Views of Washington DC

May 16th, 2012

Washington DC has so much to see, so much to explore and so much to remember that it is not possible to fully mention all the beautiful and glorious scenes of the capital. It has many restaurants, shopping malls, monuments, government buildings and offices and much more. However there are some particular views that one shouldn’t miss during a tour to the district.

The most astonishing, eye-catching and marvelous landmarks are monuments and museums. The monument and related landmarks are mostly visited by people in the day timings. You can visit the place in the day light but I would prefer to visit the monument in the night. Monument and memorials are fully lighted in the night and are decorated with awesome lights. Mostly people do not visit the monument in the night but you should. Mostly landmarks are open for public in the night so there isn’t any issue.

Great Falls Park is another natural attraction in the capital. The park is located on the Potomac River and has very astonishing scenes. Water fall is one of the beautiful scenes of the park. You can also enjoy hiking, horse riding and rock climbing. The park is properly maintained and is open for visitors from 10am to 4pm.

George Washington Memorial Parkway is something that you shouldn’t miss if you love natural scenery. This road connects the George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate to the Great Falls Park. The road is full of gorgeous views and landmarks. During your drive on the parkway you will see great falls park, Turkey run park, Glen echo park, Fort Marcy and many more parks and historical landmarks.

Jefferson Memorial is a memorial in the honor of the president Thomas Jefferson. The building is magnificently designed with a bronze statue of the president. From the top of the building, White House can be clearly viewed. The memorial remains open for public daily at 8am till late night.

Mount Vernon Estate is another famous landmark of all the times. The garden, museum and the whole place depicts the history pretty well. Everything is properly maintained including kitchen, smoke house, stable and other places. You can easily spend a whole day in the Estate and it is suggested to visit the Mount Vernon between November to March to avoid rush of tourists.

So start planning to spend your next vacations in the Washington D.C. and start finding the famous DC hotels for your stay in the capital.

Your visit to Washington DC is incomplete without a car, so consult some well known companies for rental cars.
