Allen Iverson 28pts vs Wizards 08/09 NBA *Nice dish to McDyess

May 17th, 2010

Allen Iverson crumpled to the floor early Wednesday night, but bounced back. So did the Detroit Pistons. Iverson left the game briefly after bumping knees with Washington’s Mike James but returned to finish with 28 points on 10-for-16 shooting in the Pistons’ third straight victory, 88-74 over the Wizards. Rodney Stuckey added 18 points and matched his career high with 11 assists for Detroit, which went on a 12-3 run midway through the fourth quarter after the Wizards had pulled to 63-62. The Pistons allowed only three field goals in the final 9 minutes. “I just waited for my opportunity and when it came I just took advantage of it,” said Iverson, whose output was his highest since a 30-point night at Sacramento on Nov. 11. “I was probably in the best groove since I got here.” Detroit hasn’t lost since blowing a 17-point lead in a 107-94 loss at Washington on Dec. 9, They’re 10-9 with Iverson on the roster. Tayshaun Prince added 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Richard Hamilton scored 12 points for the Pistons, 6-1 when Stuckey starts at the point. “You have to pick your poison because usually a team has only one defender on the perimeter,” Hamilton said of coach Michael Curry’s recent lineup shift. “Now we have two great scorers on the perimeter.” Detroit closed the first half on an 11-4 run and led 44-34 at intermission, but Washington caught up in the second half. The Wizards cut it to 63-62 on Antawn Jamison’s layup early in the fourth quarter, but the Pistons answered

It’s funny at 3:14 fans are voting for players of the game and stuckey has a 33% while A.I. has 26% lol

damn, what else can I say. If you play basketball, you need to learn how to dunk. I just recently finished the training program at – snipurl[dot]com/nbatraining – I wish I did it sooner so I could’ve started dunking my in college basketball team (I’m only 5’7!)

oh no wonder he aint good no more,,this is why okay..imma soccer player and i have the same situation as this guy. did you see the broken knee?? if that happened to you once in your life. its done! you aint good no more.

  6. Tjuan089 says:

detroit felt that they needed more space for the upcoming draft and free agents and they knew that Iverson wouldn’t be there long unless he helped them get to the finals

  7. mrctj says:

ok that’s right but one of the most badest things they do was the Trade between Billups and Iverson. Nothing against Iverson but he is not like the Pistons playart and the have Hamilton and Billups was good. Whythey trade him for Iverson??? That was stupid in my mind

  8. angellord1 says:

yeah but with all the teams that are changing up their roster for a chance at a championship run, you cant expect detroit to sit around and do nothing. yes, its dissapointing for them to lose rasheed, but they got two young and talented players in ben gordon and charlie villanueva. add that to tayshaun, rip, and rodney they could have a pretty good season and an upbeat, fast offense.

  9. mrctj says:

The new Pistons sucks because Rasheed Wallace is away and almost all of the old perfect defens Team only Tyshaun Prince is still remained !!!

AI is a legend, hes a real warrior, but i would rather have him to win a ring with the 76ers thou,
anyways, remember stuckey is the one that got billups TRADED, and got rip BENCHED, coach thinks hes got talent, hes a great player, but AI is the real superstar in this team

  19. quicknecky says:

    AI the real MVP

  24. 232none says:

dude, its not about AI himself coz we’re talking about the whole piston team. if Pistons win, its also a credit to AI and Stuckey is being talk all the time is because he improved tremendously from a rookie to someone the pistons can rely on. AI, on the other hand is already well known and an allstar himself. so his got “it” already

  25. imback3 says:

ai is not gettin enough credit on the pistons everybody is talkin about stuckey but ai has contributed durin there winnin streak incudin 2 game winners AI IS THE BEST
