Question by : How do we get government to spend more which is causing it to drown itself in a bathtub?
Using the political system takes too long. If you can cause problems in the economy government will jump in with spending trying to save as many as it can from Capitalism failing to provide enough jobs. Spend too much and you have to make cuts, aka shrink government. If your kid gets lead paint toys or bad pork from lack of government regulation well more sick people raised GDP.

  1. Paul Jackson says:

    CLUE: UNSUSTAINABLE SPENDING/DEBT = DOWNGRADE.

Refusal to pay the bills led to the downgrade:

” Compared with previous projections, our revised base case scenario now
assumes that the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts, due to expire by the end of 2012,
remain in place. We have changed our assumption on this because the majority
of Republicans in Congress continue to resist any measure that would raise
revenues, a position we believe Congress reinforced by passing the act.”

The Teaparty made our lenders nervous when they threatened not to pay the bills. The Republican party had to be dragged kicking and screaming. With these losers in office, more downgrades are to come.

  2. Glass Cup says:

This is a consumer driven economy. If you cut spending, you cut employment. If you cut employment you recede the economy.

This is not my beliefs. This is from the Fed Chairman’s PHD thesis. And he is a Republican.
