Will I now be a customer of Chase Bank or will they continue to run under the Washington Mutual name? Will they issue Chase debit, credit cards, and checks?
How will the Washington Mutual buyout affect my account with them?

idk
contact them!
You are now a customer of JPMorgan Chase. Similar to an otherwise ordinary merger, you continue to bank the same way are you have been banking for a little while. It’ll take Chase some time to integrate WaMu into Chase. In the meantime, your WaMu checks, debit cards, and credit cards are good, and you should continue using them until you receive replacements from Chase.
Gradually, you will see signage at branches changing from WaMu to Chase, and eventually, your WaMu accounts will be changed to a similar account at Chase. For example, your WaMu Free Checking will probably be eventually converted to Chase Free Checking with Direct Deposit, unless Chase decides to continue some of WaMu’s product lines and rebrand them as Chase.

If you bought a building from me would you keep my name on it or change it anyway Why are you people going to keep allowing someone to smack you in the face just think for a second if all banks fail how would the government be able to pay back all that debt. I know the banks and government say that your money is FDIC up to 100,000 but just think if all the banks was to fail at once how would the government be able to pay everybody back what they have saved up in the bank. The Government is full of Shyt and you should not trust this LIE. DONT PUT THIS TYPE OF TRUST IN ANYONE if the government could afford to pay all of us off then why is the US in debt the way it is, Please have something stashed away ~GOD BLESS~

My entire family banks at WaMu so we were all worried too. :/
This one’s a little more succinct and to the point:
it’s still business as usual for WAMU until the turn over takes place… which would probably be at the end of next year. you will still have the same accounts, the same on where you pay your bills, to which you address them, and you will have to continue using the same credit/debit cards or checking accounts until further notice.
