Question by : How come Washington DC and Washington state are far apart from each other?
Washington is on the West coast while DC is on the East Coast; why?

Because they have absolutely nothing to do with each other. Washington D.C. is the capital of the U.S. and was named after George Washington. Washington state just happens to be named after him too Just like there are many places in different parts of the country with the same name…like the cities of Palm Springs California and Palm Springs Florida. Or the 13 different towns named Springfield. There is also a Portland in Oregon and a Portland in Maine.
